4. Can we exfoliate gently, just with water?

Water, particularly warm water in the shower or bath, plays a vital part in loosening the outer layers of dead skin cells, oils and debris. Exfolimate gently removes excess dead skin cells, cleaning the pores, and creating a cleaner, smoother skin surface, but not the hairs. This exfoliating process is completely gentle & natural as it is chemical free, used only with water. You will be amazed just how easy it is to achieve the ultimate skin clean for the body using just water in the shower. Many customers find for facial exfoliation the product works well with your favourite skin cleanser.

5. How can you feel the difference instantly?

Skin cells are measured in thousandths of a millimetre. You can remove an awful lot of cells without seeing a visible result on the edge of Exfolimate. However, you can feel how smooth your skin is instantly. Visible debris and skin cells on the edge depends on skin type, the area being exfoliated and build up of body oils, dirt and pollution. For example, oily skin types may accumulate more debris. The application of moisturisers and sunscreens may lead to an accumulation of dust and debris on the skin. Also working in the garden or playing sport, may lead to a much more visible result on the edge after exfoliation. In any case experience the ultimate skin clean for smoother skin.

6. How can I achieve a healthy glow instantly?

Excess dead skin cells may make your skin appear dull. Dead skin cells can reduce the natural reflective properties of the skin. Removing the dead skin cells achieves healthier looking skin that can glow, which may also reduce the appearance of fine lines. Dead skin cells flake off naturally through a process called desquamation, which normally takes around 28 days. Exfoliation speeds up the process revealing newer, fresher rejuvenated skin. It is recommended to always use a sunscreen after exfoliation.

7. How can it help rejuvenate the skin?

As well as instantly smoother feeling skin, real benefits can come from longer term use. The process of skin cell replacement takes on average 28 days. Factors which slow down this process include pollution, health, smoking, weather or age. Speeding up this process of skin rejuvenation reveals newer fresher skin which glows. Using Exfolimate stimulates the skin’s surface like no other product. It's like giving your skin a deep massage, stimulating blood flow, which may increase oxygenation to the deeper tissues. As you use Exfolimate you may notice the skin becomes visibly 'fresher'. No other product can achieve this naturally, gently, quickly and easily.

8. Is it good for dry skin or sensitive skin?

Typically we continue to apply moisturisers to dry skin. Instead exfoliate gently first, then apply the moisturiser to the newer fresher skin, for better results. Removing patches of dry skin can make the skin look and feel much smoother. Since the process uses only water, some sensitive skin types can now try the new natural alternative to exfoliation, just with water. Some customers may find that using their favourite cleansers, exfoliation products and moisturisers gives even better results. Individual results vary. Do not use on broken, damaged or infected skin (see precautions below). If unsure, seek medical advice before use.

9. Can we achieve better skin care instantly?

Exfolimate for quick, easy, natural skin care.

11. Is it good for adolescent skin?

Adolescent skin is prone to oiliness and blemishes. The first two stages in the formation of blemishes can be blocked pores and excess production of oils leading to inflammation. Clearing away those blockages and oils and keeping the surface of the skin clean is the best protection for healthy skin care. Now this can be achieved easily and quickly just with water or your favourite skin care products. Of course it is not recommended to use Exfolimate on broken, damaged or infected skin (see precautions below). If unsure, seek medical advice before use.

12. How can skin care products or cosmetics work even better?

Most people apply products to their skin to achieve improvements, however, leading skincare professionals agree that skin care products will be more effective if we first exfoliate. Exfoliation can also stimulate the skin’s natural ability to renew and repair itself. It clears away dead skin cells to reveal newer fresher skin. Instead of applying skin care products onto layers of unwanted dead skin cells, now they are absorbed on the newer, fresher skin. This allows the active ingredients in skin care products to work much better. After cleaning the pores with Exfolimate, it is recommended to use products that do not clog the pores (non-comedogenic ). Some have commented that after exfoliation “makeup goes on much smoother” particularly around the chin area which can be prone to “lumps and bumps”.

13. How can I get a better sunless tan or remove sunless tanning products?

Exfolimate helps clear the pores and smooth the skin’s surface for a more consistent, even sunless tanning application. Thoroughly moisten the skin in the shower or bath and simply use Exfolimate to help remove sunless tanning products or prepare for more consistent applications. The application of sunless tans can block the pores, and new applications shouldn't be made until those blockages are cleared. Exfolimate achieves this without harsh treatments. One of the greatest problems in the tanning industry is removing a sunless tan as it fades. Now it can be removed quickly and easily in the shower or bath, by first soaking the skin, and using Exfolimate to remove the tanning products on the skin’s surface. For stubborn tans use your favourite cleanser or baby oil. It’s amazing.

14. Can it help reduce shaving rash?

Exfolimate removes excess dead skin cells, oils and debris to help smooth and clean the skin before shaving. Now your razor is cutting only through the hairs, and not clogging up with surface debris, and working on a smoother surface. This also helps to achieve a closer shave with less irritation to the skin. If you have a shaving rash or skin irritation, we recommend not shaving over the weekend to give your skin a chance to heal. Then use Exfolimate to smooth the skin before shaving to help reduce the causes of potential irritation, for a smoother, closer shave. Try it for the best shave ever!

15. How can Exfolimate assist with hair removal, shaving, waxing or ingrown hairs?

Exfolimate helps prepare the skin for hair removal, waxing or shaving, by first clearing away excess dead skin cells, debris & pollutants. Then the micro-grooved edge can be used to lift the hairs for a better waxing or shaving experience. Skin cells are only thousandths of a millimetre in size, yet can stick down a hair which is missed during waxing. Exfolimate overcomes this problem quickly and easily. Try it on your legs, underarms and bikini line before waxing or shaving & experience the difference! You may also find that your razor lasts much longer, since it is only cutting through the hairs and not clogging up with surface debris. Also after waxing it is important that we do all that we can to keep the opening of the follicles clear to help prevent blockages, as these may lead to skin irritations, ingrown hairs. There are many reasons for ingrown hairs. It is important to keep the skin’s surface and the pores clear to assist in minimising ingrown hairs. Now everyone has a quick and easy way to achieve this with Exfolimate.

16. How can exfoliation assist healthy skin?

The body produces millions of microscopic skin cells every day. When these skin cells reach the surface of the skin they are dead and should automatically flake off in a process called desquamation, generally taking around 28 days. Factors which can slow the process of cell regeneration include pollution, health, smoking, age, sun damage, even the weather. Poor skin function means dry, damaged, oily or blemished skin and even ingrown hairs. Excess dry skin cells also lessen the benefits of products applied to the skin. Exfoliation speeds up cell replacement improving the normal functioning of the skin including ph balance. Speeding up cell replacement brings newer fresher skin to the surface aiding healthy skin function. Exfoliation is regarded today as an integral part of any healthy skin care program. Exfoliation should be followed by hydration to maintain moisture to the skin’s surface and moisturisers including sunscreen used for UV protection.

17. Should we exfoliate in the winter months?

The cold weather tends to increase the dryness of the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin which can make the skin look dull and lack lustre. Using Exfolimate reveals newer fresher skin cells and helps give the skin a radiant glow. We tend to use more moisturisers during this time to help reduce dry skin. Exfolimate helps to increase the effectiveness of your moisturisers by removing unwanted dry dead skin cells. This creates a much more receptive skin surface for better absorption of moisturisers. It should be noted that the UV rays that damage the deeper layers of the skin do not change in winter. It is therefore important to keep using sunscreens during the winter months.
